Title: Xtreme Charge XC400 4-Amp All-Vehicle 12V Battery Charger & Maintainer
The Xtreme Charge XC400 is a high-performance 4-amp battery charger, maintainer, and conditioner purpose-built for 12-volt lead-acid batteries—including flooded, AGM, VRLA, and EFB types. Designed for professionals and serious battery owners alike, the XC400 utilizes a patented high-frequency Pulse Technology to optimize charge cycles, prevent sulfation, and extend battery life by up to 3X.
Where most chargers offer basic float modes or timed shut-offs, the XC400 continuously analyzes battery condition and adjusts output for optimal performance. It transitions seamlessly between bulk charging, absorption, and maintenance—making it safe for long-term use on vehicles, equipment, and seasonal assets.
What It Solves:
- No More Dead Batteries: Maintains charge even during long-term storage.
- Fewer Replacements: Prevents over-discharge and sulfation buildup.
- Better Performance: Optimizes battery health for reliable starts and consistent output.
- Effortless Maintenance: Simple, plug-and-go design for everyday use.
Key Features: (Instead of Product Details)
- Dual Functionality: Works as both a high-efficiency battery charger and a trickle maintainer.
- Safe for Long-Term Use: No risk of overheating or overcharging—ideal for stored vehicles.
- 4-Amp Output: Fast, effective charging for cars, motorcycles, boats, RVs, ATVs, UTVs, and more.

- Perfect for stored vehicles! No overheating or overcharging no matter how long the car battery charger is connected. Maximum charge current of 4 amps.
- Five-stage charge process allows our Pulse Technology to recover most 12-volt batteries to optimal charge capacity extending battery life. *Not all batteries are recoverable.
- Fuse-protected, spark-proof, and water-resistant: this 4-amp battery charger is best for ATVs, UTVs, boats and automobiles.
- Works on 12-volt lead acid batteries - wet cell, VRLA, EFB and AGM batteries.
- Auto restart after power failure.
- ETL, BC and FFC approved.
- Recover and maintain up to four batteries at a time with our QuadLink 4-Channel Battery Charger Multiplier.
- The minimum voltage start up is set at 7 volts to prevent the accidental connection of a 6-volt battery to your 12-volt battery charger.

HOW WE 3X BATTERY LIFE
- Patented Pulse Technology: Our unique method removes lead sulfate crystals that cause battery failure, extending battery life.
- Enhanced Charging Efficiency: PulseTech’s systems optimize charging cycles to ensure maximum battery longevity.
- Proven Results: Independent testing shows a threefold increase in battery life, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
- Cost-Effective Solutions: Fewer replacements lead to significant savings in battery costs and maintenance.
The Science of Tripling Battery Life
Founded in 1994, PulseTech is the world leader in recovery, charging, maintenance, and testing of all 12-volt and 24-volt battery systems.
The secret to our success is our patented pulse waveform, which removes and prevents the buildup of lead-sulfate deposits on battery plates. That primes the battery to accept and store maximum power.
For you, this means:
- Peak performance and three times more battery life
- More efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible equipment
- Freedom, knowing you have the power to go farther and do more.
Long trusted by the military, our tech is ideal for anyone who wants to get more out of their equipment.

WHY YOU NEED A TRICKLE CHARGER
- Prevents Deep Discharge: By providing a steady charge, it keeps batteries from dropping to dangerously low levels, which can shorten their lifespan.
- xtreme charge: Ensures your vehicles batteries are always charged, maintained, and ready when you are.
- Prevents Sulfation: Regular charging helps prevent lead sulfate crystals from forming on the battery plates, which can hinder performance.
- Safe and easy to Use: Designed to be left connected for extended periods, trickle chargers automatically adjust to prevent overcharging.
- Cost-Effective: By prolonging battery life and performance, you save money on replacements and repairs.

I was able to put an Interstate battery back in service that had been sitting around the shop for 6 yrs. Glad I didn’t have to drop $200 just yet.
Xtreme Charge® XC400 4-Amp Battery Charger/Maintainer
Your pulse conditioning keeps my batteries fully charged and extends their useful life to about 10 years. With over 12 batteries to maintain, this explains why I have so many of your chargers...they work!

The charger itself and the cabling are fine. The led indicators seem to cover all the bases - at least for the one AGM battery that I used it on. As the directions stated, I connected the charger first to the battery and then plugged in the AC power cord (same sequence in reverse for disconnecting the charger from the battery). The XC400 lacks what every electrical appliance device in existence has - an On/Off Switch. This I think would be particularly useful if you leave it plugged in on a bench in the winter like I do to charge various yard equipment batteries. I hope the AC line plug lasts and doesn't fray off he cord being plugged/unplugged so much. A switch like my older Shumacher chargers has - 2A/4A/Off selector 3-way switch would be a great improvement.
Secondly, I'm a bit concerned about the heat the unit produces when connected to a fully discharged battery. This thing gets HOT! In a fully enclosed plastic case, I'm not sure how long the electronics will last due to the pizza oven effect? I'm thinking of mounting it on a finned aluminum heat sink to draw some of the heat away when charging. I worked 30-yrs in electronic design as an engineer and I know what I'm talking about.
my effort at using an alternate source battery minder ended killing off two batteries. The model I had chosen could select from glass matt, flooded or gel style maintenance. It broke stuck in gel mode possibly from power company glitches and gel mode I think misstreated the flooded cell batteries until they only regsitered 9v. So, two new batteries and using the XC400 gives me confidence I will not have another misstreatment battery loss. Its stays in one mode, flooded.
